Fundraising Sunday evening meditation & relaxation

New for autumn & winter 2024/5, these monthly donation-based Sunday evening sessions will be 100% in aid of environmental charities. Our first round of fundraising will be for Woodland Trust, the UK's largest woodland conservation charity.

Delivered by Lucia over zoom, these restoring and nurturing 75- minute sessions - from 6-7.15pm - will include a range of different meditations offered lying down or seated (as is your choice). Please read instructions in right-hand column for signing up and donations.

We will include guided relaxation and poetry / general readings to chime with the season. Classes are suitable for most people and may be helpful in the following ways:

  • to de-stess and relax in the knowledge that you are also supporting a vital cause

  • nurture mind/body wellbeing in a way that is suitable for complete beginners as well as more experienced practitioners

  • experience different meditation-based practices, including the restorative lying down practice of yoga nidra (guided relaxation)

  • explore the benefits of coming out of your head and thoughts, into your body

  • be led with a clear, nurturing, entirely secular approach

Being 'mindful’ means being gently present to our experience as it happens, with kindness and interest, rather than being overly caught up in thoughts and feelings (being in our heads).

The benefits of a regular meditation practice are well documented and are included in NHS guidelines as a powerful way to look after our mental wellbeing (click here for more).

Sessions are usually led by Lucia, who has a long-standing meditation practice and is highly trained to teach mindfulness and yoga nidra (guided relaxation). Lucia has 17 years’ teaching experience, online, in-person and on retreats.

I attended my first ever (live stream) mindfulness class last night and wanted to put in writing to thank you for introducing me to a way of finding peace and calm in such a gentle and natural way. I truly have not felt that calm or at peace for a very long time.

“I have found YATM’s online mindfulness sessions to be very enjoyable. They provide a good mix of mindfulness practices, meaning there is something for everyone, and something that you can build into everyday life. I would highly recommend the sessions.”
— Dan
