Winter meditation course, November & December, live streamed

For our ancient ancestors winter would be a time to slow down, rest and conserve vital energy for the warmer, naturally more outward-facing months. It would be a healing time of turning inwards and spiritual renewal.

Our five-week winter meditation course,

Our long-running Tuesday evening live streamed relaxation and mindfulness sessions could be for you if you are wishing to:

  • de-stess and relax

  • experience different meditation practices, including the deeply restful lying down practice of yoga nidra (guided relaxation)

  • find natural ways (that could help) to alleviate mild-to-moderate anxiety or insomnia, though please note mindfulness is not recommended for anyone experiencing serious depression or high levels of anxiety

  • explore the benefits of coming out of your head and thoughts, more into your body

  • nurture mind/body wellbeing in a way that is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced practitioners

  • be led with a clear, nurturing, entirely secular approach

Sessions are suitable for most people. A range of options for postures will always be given. Often we will be lying down.

Being 'mindful’ means being gently present to our experience as it happens, with kindness and interest, rather than being overly caught up in thoughts and feelings (being in our heads).

The benefits of a regular meditation practice are well documented and are included in NHS guidelines as a powerful way to look after our mental wellbeing (click here for more).

Sessions are usually led by Lucia, who has a long-standing meditation practice and trained to teach mindfulness-based approaches at Bangor University (postgraduate, two years) and Mindfulness for Schools. She trained to teach Yoga Nidra (guided relaxation and meditation) with the Yoga Nidra Network and has also recently trained with Breathworks.
